Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

SleepOS collects the following information to provide personalized sleep coaching:

• Sleep data — bedtimes, wake times, sleep quality ratings, and patterns you log in the app
• Daily check-in data — mood, energy levels, anxiety ratings, and notes you provide
• Health profile — age, sleep goals, work schedule, and health conditions you optionally share during onboarding
• Apple Health data — sleep history imported from Apple Health, only if you grant permission
• Usage data — app feature usage for improving the product (anonymized)

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Generate personalized AI sleep coaching through the Anthropic Claude API
• Track your sleep patterns and progress over time
• Deliver CBT-I protocols tailored to your specific sleep problems
• Send relevant push notifications (only if you grant permission)
• Process subscription payments through Apple's App Store

3. Data Storage

Your sleep data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Data may sync across your personal devices via iCloud if you have iCloud enabled — this sync is encrypted and controlled entirely by Apple.

We do not operate our own servers that store your personal sleep or health data.

4. AI Coaching and the Anthropic API

When you use the AI Coach feature, relevant portions of your sleep data (recent sessions, check-ins, and profile information) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate coaching responses. This data transmission is:

• Encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS
• Used only to generate your coaching response
• Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy

We recommend not including sensitive personal information beyond what is needed for sleep coaching in your check-in notes.

5. Apple Health Integration

SleepOS can read sleep data from Apple Health only if you explicitly grant permission. We do not write medical data to Apple Health. You can revoke this permission at any time in your iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → SleepOS.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID. We use RevenueCat to track subscription status — this involves sharing a pseudonymous user identifier with RevenueCat's servers.

7. Children's Privacy

SleepOS is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Your sleep data remains on your device until you delete the app or use the "Reset All Data" function in Settings. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. To delete your iCloud-synced data, go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → SleepOS → Delete Data.

9. Third-Party Services

SleepOS integrates with the following third-party services:

• Anthropic Claude API — AI coaching responses (Privacy Policy)
• RevenueCat — Subscription management (Privacy Policy)
• Apple HealthKit — Sleep data (optional, controlled by you)
• Apple CloudKit — Device sync (controlled by your iCloud settings)

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — it's all visible within the app
• Delete your data — use "Reset All Data" in Settings
• Revoke Health permissions — in iPhone Settings
• Opt out of notifications — in iPhone Settings or app Settings
• Cancel your subscription — through your Apple ID settings

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of SleepOS after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
